The defense showed up strong again in ’87. However, the offense struggled and the Bucks finished 3-6. In 7 of the 9 games that year the Bucks defense gave up two touchdowns or less. However, the offense only managed to put up 51 points all year. The Bucks did manage a 10-8 win over Evart, an 18-0 win over McBain, and a 7-6 win over Mason County Central in the last game of the year. The win over Mason County Central would begin a 7 game winning streak for the Bucks, the longest streak to that point in school history. 1987 was also the senior year of Pine River Football’s most famous alumni, Larry (Jo) Campbell. Larry plays the funny sidekick of Jim Belushi on TV’s According to Jim.
